Problem

This project involved the rebuilding of the button from a beautiful Cuniot-Hury violin bow. The only part that was worth saving was the front silver band. The core of the button was completely fractured and the rear band was far too large and didn't fit.

Solution

We turned a new core on the lathe, made a new rear silver band and hand filled that band and core to match the original front band.

We finished the project by installing a very high quality screw and matching eyelet, along with matching pearl eye.
